[inactive]svchost.exe issues: Sypware problem?

Gents some advice please. I've just rebuilt my laptop, XP Pro SP2. I had issues with WGA which I have resolved with help from this site: http://www.p2plife.com Have managed to build and am recieving updates (With trouble via automatic updates: Manually updating will not work).

I have an problem with svchost.exe which I never had before the re-build, but now it hogs 95 +- % of the available processing power. Am running Zone Alarms, no A/V. When I kill the svchost.exe which is consuming all the processing power it removes some graphics from the screen and kills the automatic updates, leading me to believe that I shouldn't be doing this.

Any ideas please? Not sure if this is a Spyware issue but am posting the Hijack log from my PC.

Thanks for the advice, after some investigation before following I find this:

This file is a driver for my touch pad, however it is the Win 2000 version, not the XP version...

I'll do the clean up, re-install the right driver and report back!

    [STEP 1]Run Additional Tools:
Your HijackThis log shows no more signs of executable malware. However, this does not mean that your system is completely clean. In order to make sure that all remaining pieces of this malware have been removed, it is reccomended that you download and scan with Ewido Anti-Malware. Please do an Ewido scan and post the log here.:

    Download Ewido

    [STEP 2]Report Back to us:
Once you have followed all of the steps above please reboot your computer and post a new HijackThis log.

Nothing to report from that last scan, was clean. Must just be this toss OS I'm using! Going to run Hijack and see if repairing the OS does anything.

Anyone else had problems with Microsoft Update? This seems to be what causes svchost.exe to overload the processer.

    Thanks!
