Does Rockbox read Shortcuts?

So I finally got Rockbox installed as per some of your suggestions, and I have to say I'm pretty impressed, especially since I can customize the way it looks. Anyway, I've been working the past few nights to listen to and rename all my tunes that iTunes and Apple's iPod software renamed to random four number combinations.

So far, I only have one artist's songs fully renamed and transfered and I noticed Rockbox keeps folder structures, meaning I can put each artist in his/her own folder, which is something I've been wanting to do for a while to separate my FF7 soundtrack from everything else.

One thing it doesn't do though, is read shortcuts. For example, I have some songs by Akon, and I made a folder for Akon in my Music dir, and put all the songs in there, but I also want a folder called "all" or something where I would just place shortcuts to all the songs from all the artists, so if I browse to that folder in Rockbox, I have a full list instead of all the folders. Is it possible to do something else to get the same result since Rockbox doesn't read windows shortcuts?

Also, you'll notice I'm using paragraphs now. Yes, It's amazing. I was rereading some of my posts and they looked long, jumbled and boring, and were hard to follow, so...

I found this and it's apparently a way to get Rockbox to read shortcuts, but I don't know what to do with the file. It's not a .plugin like other plugins, nor is it a txt or any other type of file I know of.

It's a patch file. How to apply patch files. They're mostly used in Linux but I'm sure there's a tool in Windows that does it also.

Once you apply the patch (to the source code) you will have to re-compile it.
