Hello everyone...tis the season : / Bah Humbug

Question, I have a iLo 26" HDTV connected to a ovclk'd 6600gt. The "suggested" resolution for my screen is 1280x768..I was wondering is it bad to use a custom resolution on such a monitor? say like 1280x960..

The reason i ask is 1280x768 looks fine but the higher res just looks that much better..

am i going to damage my screen by doing this?

thx in advance for any help :)

I shouldn't think so. That TV is nothing more than a glorified monitor, which means running it outside of its native resolution won't hurt it.

if it is true hd then it should run 1920x1080, at least I would think.

Not necessarily. HD is 720p, 1080i and 1080p. Any TV that runs just one of those resolutions can be called HDTV.
