Help with a graphics hardware problem please

edited December 2006 in Hardware
My PC monitor has just developed vertical lines. I'm pretty sure its not a problem with the monitor itself and I've swopped cables with no improvement.

I'm guessing its a graphics card or graphics card output connector problem. The card does have a second connector for a secondary output but I cant seem to enable it. I've been into the display settings but when I chose the second monitor the apply settings button stays greyed out.

Does anyone know how I can enble the secondary output or anything alse I can try to find the cause of the problem.

Thanks
