I see a lot of chatter on Google about this one, but no real definitive answer. I have a brand new XP Home machine. I can install all the software I want, but I've tried 2 (two) wireless NIC cards and I get the same result. The install goes all the way through till I point to the driver, I even click on the "This driver has not passed Windows certification" deal, then I get the tumbnail below.

If I hit finish the hardware install wizard just starts all over again. Anyone got a clue?

One more clue....it's not just network adapters. Just to diagnose I plugged a cheap little Canon ink jet into it. Same result, I get all the way to the end and get the screen shown above.

Screw it. I've been fighting computers non-stop for days now. Its brand new, got nothing on it. I don't have the restore disk so I used Bart PE to go in and install from the i386 folder.

    That solved it!
