XP Pro install on SATA drive

edited December 2006 in Hardware
I just reformatted a system with dual SATA drive. Now I can't get XP pro to reinstall. I've followed the rules about hitting F6 during the install to load the SATA drivers, but it still doesn't work. I've even disconnected one of the drives to try to install on only 1 drive, it didn't work. It's a home PC with a Abit mobo IC7-Max3 and two Raptor 36GB hard drives. Can someone help me out with this, I'm ready to throw in the towel on this one!:shakehead

Ensure that the drives are detected by the SATA BIOS screen just before the DMI portion of the boot process has finished. Also, ensure that the BOOTABLE ADD-IN card option is set in BIOS so that windows will know to use the onboard controllers to refer to when loading drivers.

What is the DMI? The bootable add-in is listed first. In addition, it also shows both of the hard drives in that list.
