Dual Channel died, what's up?

So, all of a sudden my computer just restarted itself, and I get a "C1" error code out of my POST. After resetting the CMOS and placing just one stick of RAM in the DIMM2 slot, it boots up fine. But, when I place two RAM sticks in with a dual channel configuration it goes back to the "C1" error code, which means that the POST failed to initiate. When I put just a single stick in the second channel all by itself the same thing happens. But, when I have either one or two sticks in the first channel, everything works fine, minus the ability to have dual channel memory. What happened? Could part of my memory controller have died?

I'm running a DFI Lanparty UT M2/G mobo with a Athlon X2 4800+ proc and x2 1Gb sticks of Corsair XMS2 DDR2 800 RAM.

I had the same thing happen to my ASUS A8NSLI Deluxe, I called ASUS and they replaced it, as I was never able to find out the true problem...

remember that the memory controler in on the CPU.
Sounds more like a mobo issue though.
