Playstation 3 Supply Catching Up!

There's a good chance that you are still able to put a Playstation 3 console under your Christmas tree, if you weren't willing to wait in line for three days or more at launch or pay outrageous premiums for the console on Ebay. Supply is improving and you can get the console below suggested retail price.

Notifywire.com, a website that provides in-stock alerts for certain products, reports that Sony's latest game console has been much more available in recent days in U.S. online stores. "I wasn't expecting this much volume before Christmas," said Ian Drake, who runs Notifywire.com. In fact, Drake believes that the supply is high enough to buy what they want at the price advertised by Sony: "I think we're already at the point where many people won't pay a premium for the console or be forced into buying bundles," Drake said.
Ian's claims are supported by current Ebay auctions, which indicates ample supply of the consoles. Initial auctions that topped $15,000 have calmed down and most sellers appear to have trouble getting rid of the console for its suggested retail price. As reported yesterday, several stores in the Chicago area were selling the console. A Meijer store was even handing out $20 coupons for the PS3 and $12 coupons for games.
Well I know my local Target has had a couple come in stock just about everyday. The units are still selling out, but they are coming around.

I wish the DS Lite supply would catch up. I drove all over town looking for one today for a gift, and never found one. I had a much easier time getting a Wii :-/

    I saw PS3s at 4 of the 10 places I stopped at.

Maybe we can work out another Nintendo for hosting agreement prime. I just so happen to have a ds lite w. brain age, protected screens, official nintendo case, fiber cleaning cloth, 2xstylus, and brainage. It is white.

It has about 25 hours of playtime on it, 18 for mario and luigi partners in time, and about 7 on brainage.

I never touch the thing. *sigh*

The sad thing is, retailers across the US, especially our store, were sitting on hundreds of DSes all year, with ample opportunity to get more. Go go gadget procrastination :\
