Yep, I'm dumb. I did it again.

I washed my 1gb OCZ Rally USB memory stick.

It went through the hot/cold wash cycle. It went through the dryer.

It came out 100% fine. All my data intact.

Thanks, OCZ! :D

I dont think that the water is the danger to these actually. If they dry up properly BEFORE you use it, it should be ok. However, if the stick fel lout of the jeans pocket and get slammed in the rum of the machine during the washing, i'm not sure it would stay alive.

    Very good point Marcus!

Looks like Brian just got real lucky.

I see these repeated "mistakes" as a thinly-disguised cry for help.

Too bad I live in Ohio - I could come up and see you this weekend and offer my support. :(

I don't understand what "living in Ohio" has to do with anything

if you (or anybody) wants to come by my house, do what keebs did: call and invite yourself.. Even better, don't even invite yourself, just call and say "i'm coming"... Or pull a mondi and just show up, from across the country, completely unannounced, with a suitcase.

It happens all the time :-/

You're missing the point entirely. You are wanted by proxy. I don't have the energy or time to want everybody. I want everybody and nobody. It doesn't matter. Whether you are wanted or not (which you are and aren't), you should come if you want, and don't if you can't or don't. English is being butchered at an alarming rate in this post. Massacred, even. Whether I want, don't want, can't want, or won't want, you shouldn't not want to come even if you can't or don't want to!

Maybe if you washed your memory stick again you'd feel better. :tongue2:

Snuffie was quite the gentleman when I was there. Perhaps he wasn't feeling well... :o

And I did - finally - get the invitation I was after. :ninja:

To a passed out drunken lost swede on my doorstep? That would be a hearty "YES, PLEASE!" ;D

I mean, who would say no to that? :p

I see this thread has got absolutely nothing to do with washed USB memory sticks anymore, so I'll throw in my .2c worth....

If I showed up on your doorstep one day with suitcase in hand I dunno who would get the biggest fright...you or me :hair:

Well to swerve back on topic, why can't OCZ make cellphones? Mine just took a round in the washer and it's dead. :bawling: Gotta wait till May 17 to get a free phone or discount (with contract) from Cingular. Why couldn't it have died on June. Atleast I could've gotten an iPhone.

I've done that at least twice with my Sandisk Cruzer Micro. No idea how many times I have done it and not known about it. Nothing wrong either going through either unless it gets a nice static shock in the dryer.
