Exporting Maya to 3d Max

Are there any freewares which do this? Exporting Maya's 3d models and animations over to 3DMax?

    Have you tried the 3DMax import?

    You mean, using 3D MAX to import a Maya file or are you talking about a plugin? If it is the former, i've tried and there seems to be some errors in reading the maya files.

    Yeah that was it ...and is there no export from maya to 3ds? What versions do you have of each?

    I don't really know about the 3Dx version of the company i'm doing projects for, but my Maya version is 8.0.
