Asus P5b Deluxe (cdrom Ide Ko!!)

Ciao!!
I have a new motherbord P5B deluxe with Conroe E6600.
HD Maxtor SATA,2GB Corsair 6400 and an old DVD writer
IDE.This is the problem not able to intall operating system
with this drive.Do i have to buy a SATA DVD writer or can somebody
help me to resolve this problem.

    So, is the problem that you don't have a floppy drive so you can load the SATA drivers by pressing F6 on setup? Or is your DVD drive gone and you are not even able to boot off of the CD? Regardless, you will not need another drive unless your current one is gone. As a matter of fact, if you got a SATA dvd drive, it would compound your current problem. Unless you know someone who has a slipstreamed XP disk with the SATA drivers, you will need to load them the old fashioned way (floppy drive) as XP does not include SATA drivers in distributions.
