Best HDD Diagnostic

Hey ya'll

I'm testing a Seagate Barracuda SATA 160GB (ST3160023AS) right now. The user's been experiencing file corruption. I know power fluctuations can cause such problems but she's set up using an APC UPS for power protection.

I'm running Seagate's Seatools right now, but I'm not all that confident in the extent of its testing. I've used diagnostics in the past that would run read exercises (and write if safe to do so)..... tests/exercises that really put the drive through its paces rather than just scanning the surface for errors/damage.

Does anyone know of a (bootable) diagnostic that is more thorough than this Seagate Seatools diag?

EDIT//
I tried the HDD diags on the UBCD Basic v3.4 disc. N-o-n-e of them worked (at all). They all kicked out of the diagnostic to the dos prompt.
