Another Annoying svchost.exe problem...
Hey guys,
I've probably read threads for the past 45min-1 hr on various things. I am quite impressed with the support here and knowledge by everyone. My two problem's may or may not be software related. The newest error I am getting is "svchost.exe - application error"
The instrcution at "0x745f2780" referenced meory at "0x00000000". The memory couldn't be read yada yada yada. Then the Generic Host process for win32 services thing pops up and i click close. From here on everything basically freezes up. Like I can still move the mouse around and use any programs i had open PREVIOUS to this error popping up, but from here on out i can not open any new programs. Basically the little hour glass does its thing (the cursor arrow) and then it just goes away. I press ctrl + alt + delete and no go. I try to restart and it always freezes or just doesnt have any progress. I have tried restarting it in diagnostic mode and that works successfully.
This is what leads me to my second problem. This is the weirdest thing I have ever seen. My computer after being on and I manually turn it off with the power button. When i turn it back on 30 seconds later it freezes at the windows startup. Basically the screen goes dim and it doesn't load. When i try
Safe mode doesn't from the startup screen. It freezes at the xxxx\giveio.sys every time just about. I have dual monitors (2001fpp dell 20.1 inch and a samsung 20inch synmaster 204b) My desktop was custom built and I don't really think it is a hardware issue. Another strange thing is if I leave the computer off for about 1 hr and turn it back on it works fine.
Sad thing is now that svchost.exe error is causing everything to mess up. AFter about 1 minute of the computer being loaded on the desktop it pops up and messes everything up. I have been trying to install this Acronis backup software which my friend recommended to me to backup everything. I'm trying to do that and then basically reformat this thing with the windows cd.
You guys have probably never heard of this kind of stuff before and think I am crazy.
I just scanned the comp fully with AVG 7.5 newest virus defs two days ago. I run windows defender on it. (no viruses found) I just downloaded and installed ad-aware and it's scanned atm. I will run spybot after this.
Blah sorry guys, thoughts on this mess?

What combination of virus scanner/spyware scanner/firewall do you guys recommend?
