Netgear 5Mbps speed cap removal firmware?

I have a Netgear WGU624 router w/ 4 port ethernet, 108 speed A/G wireless and I have recently tested the speed of it online and it apparently limits my connection to only 5 Mbps, and I get 6 and sometimes 12 without it. Now, does anyone know if there is an official Netgear firmware update that corrects this, or a setting in it I can change, or is there an "unofficial" firmware that works to correct this significant problem?

6, BUT! before you say something like don't expect the entire speed, I've tested the speed without the router and I get slightly higher than 6, and sometimes 12 (when lines are supposedly 70% idle). I KNOW the router is limiting me somehow.

Edit/ Well, I've updated the firmware to the latest v. 2 from the first v. 1 and the speed has increased from the 5 cap to about 5.7 now, better, but not quite as good as 6.2 which I consistantly was getting with the direct connection.
