AVG free and Outlook not playing nicely

I recently installed AVG free and now my Outlook won't work. If I disable the email scanner in AVG it will work fine. I also have the NV firewall installed and it makes no difference in the results. I have tried playing with some of the settings in the AVG options as well as Outlook and still no dice. Suggestions will be welcomed! :)

What version of Outlook are you using?

Have you tried messing with both the General and the Shared test configurations in AVG?

What, specifically, have you tried thus far?

Oh, and CHANGE YOUR NAME BACK! :nudge:

I have Outlook 2003. I have changed everything I could find in the ACG settings for the email scanner with no results. I have confirmed that the port settings are the same on both Outlook and AVG also. I did try the general, personal and group settings as well as the advanced options which are few. I'm beginning to wonder if Outlook needs a different plugin???

I switched over to Thunderbird a few months ago, but when I was still using Outlook 2000 I didn't have any trouble, nor did I need a plugin.

Is this a new installation of AVG? If so, try running the Updates over and over until it tells you that there are no more updates available.

Everything was fine and I just did a fresh install of Windows 2 weeks ago and re-installed Outlook. I just now got AVG back on and it is also the new version that has a lot of different things then the old one. The old version expired yesterday. I recall that the old version had a setting for "Outlook". Also, I am updated with no more left.

Oh yea, I'm leaving the name!!!
