its definitly worth it. The playlist is 100 times better than winamp. It keeps track of how often you play songs so you can listen to most played songs, your last 25 songs played. The random is pretty random, which I have had some problems with the random in winamp favoring certain songs. The Music Store is really cool and if you burn the songs to a CD to play in your car, the quality is quite good. It is definitly worth a look. Also, what is great if you have a certain computer with limited disk space, you can share your music in iTunes and stream it off your main box. I use that feature all the time since my laptop doesn't have a huge harddrive. This way you can go around the house and listen to the music, or your friends can stream it. It's well written and works well. Also, editing multiple ID3 tags is easy and searching for songs and making play lists is easier than winamp. All you have to do is search for a genre or a song, and drag it to the playlist. In winamp you have to click on the songs since you have to clear your playlist to make a new one.
hm - my iTouch (for my Logitech Elite) controls dont work with iTunes when i have any other software, but they work fine with winamp. looks like i now have 3 pieces of music software installed ... hm
i cant STAND how it doesn't give you a choice of HOW to sort music - which screws me over because all of my soundtrack stuff gets sorted according to the individual artists
great on college campuses btw.... i'm at WPI, a hardcore PC school, and i'm one of the roughly 3 people who like OSX and right now i see 6 peoples music collections, and it's been out for what, 2 weeks now?

1) easy reorganizing of screwed up ID3 tags
2) iTunes online store ... if you're into that
Let's just say winamp is no longer on my machine.
