Edit registry on secondary (non-primary) HDD

Hey ya'll
I've searched and searched in the past for an answer to this question.

I often take a HDD from a system that is experiencing problems and load it into one of the removable drive bays on one of my computers and test it from there.

I'd like to be able to get at the registry (to view and edit it where necessary) on the primary partition of this HDD while I'm at it if at all possible.

Does anyone know of a way I can do that?

Found this over at this site:
You can edit it as a slave but only the hklm and hk_u keys by opening your regedit program, highlight your machines hklm key (or hk_u key) and selecting 'load hive' from the file menu. Then you navigate to the system32 \config folder to open the registry files on the second hard drive.
