misc 2k3 sbs issues

A client of mine runs a SBS 2003 server. Very basic system, has Exchange 2003 being used for calendar sharing only. gig 'o' memory. NAV 10 w/ licenses for their 5 workstations. Straightforward stuff.
They have a slew of strange issues though.
1) NTbackup screen displays a 404 error through server management
2) They get strange errors in their system log, terminal services is trying to print to printers that do not exist
3) Every 4 months or so, ntbackups nightly backup fails, and then the next day their shared network folder has random subfolders that no longer contain data, and are not accessible. So the permissions have been set somehow that not even the administrator can access the folder. I reset the system, and the permissions are back, but there is no data so I have to recover it from a shadow copy.
I am pretty clueless about all of it. Sure I could reinstall everything, but that just is not realistic at the rate they pay. So I am here looking for advice. Thoughts?
