[resolved]what exactly does Viewpoint Manager DO?

i'm running Zone Alarm and just got a popup questioning me about Viewmanager. i've done a bunch of searching [which is how i ended up here] and i'm wondering what it actually does?
i'm obviously not as great with this stuff as i should be [but i'm learning - pretty fast too!].

    "Viewpoint_Manager", Automatic updates for ViewPoint products such as ViewPoint Media Player (as bundled with AOL, AOL Instant Messenger, Compuserve, etc)

    Viewpoint Manager is considered as foistware instead of malware since it is installed without users approval but doesn't spy or do anything "bad"

    thank you! everything that i've read sounds so fishy so i've been scared to allow zone alarm to continue. but, by what you're saying, it should be fine.
