soryr if this is in the wrong section, but i wasn't entirely positive where to post this.

anyways...

in order to install this other internet security program, it tells me its uncompatible with The norton 2006 suite that was already on my pc when i brought it. Well when i goto add & remove programs > select it and select remove, it just comes up with this:

<a href="http://photobucket.com/&quot; target="_blank"><img src="http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p290/beanee15/Others/untitled.jpg&quot; border="0" alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting"></a>

I've also noticed that when i go into C: > program files, i cannot find the Symantec corporation or the Norton folder.

any help would be greatly appreciated, and if anything else is needed, please just ask.

help would be greatly appreciated.

Yep. That's a common problem. You'll have to excise NIS from your system. Give me a tic and let me find the links, etc. for you.

BTW, this forum is fine for you problem. :smiles:

Ok. Try THIS. If it doesn't work (errors out) let us know. There are other options.

NOTE: This will kill ALL of your Symantec products. You will need to re-install any Symantec products you wish to keep.

you, my friend are a life-saver, i thank you.

    =P

after i used that program and all, and installed the other one, which was kapersky, it kept booting upto the plain black screen (just before the mouse pointer and the login screen pops-up) and then restarting itself.

But i think its all sorted now, so thank you Ptero', you've been a great help.

    :)

You're more than welcome, Deano. Check Comodo Personal Firewall out to replace the firewall you had in NIS. It's much better. Far more configurable and it's FREE. If you have any more problems in the wake of uninstalling NIS, just post back here. We'll help you clean it up. :smiles:
