Can't log into admin account

edited February 2007 in Spyware & Virus Removal
This problem has been bothering me for a while. I can't log onto the admin account on my computer and it just puts me on a temporary one everytime I restart. I lose everything I save and it is really becoming a nuisance. If anyone could help, I would be extremely grateful!

I had this problem at one point, but I could never figure out how to fix it. I ended up reformatting and starting over.

I could do that but my mom has all her work on here and I'd rather not lose any of that. She'd kill me.

Are you trying to change your user account from Limited / Guest account to a computer admin account.?

I didn't change anything. It just says there is a problem loading the account and it puts me on a temporary one so I can't save anything.

Can you add a new user account to your pc (in control panel) and give the type as computer administrator.

I added a new account and gave it admin access. I just hope it saves when I turn the computer off. I think there could be some sort of virus on here though because something is keeping Windows Defender from opening.
