Laughing my "bottom" off.
I am home from the small lan party.
It was a partial success.
We had big problems in C&C Generals, we had numerous timeout and a heavy lag.
I think the router caused that.
We used an ADSL router as a switch.
I do not think it was a very good one though.
Ohh well here comes the funny part.
One of my friends had purchased a new computer.
A P4 533 2.6 Ghz it is an Ok processor.
An Asus P4P motherboard.
I believe he was tricked into buying Kingston Value DDR ram.
Not very good.
And to top things off an Asus Geforce FX 5600 and Asus burner and Dvd-rom.
First I laughed at the Asus burner, you can get a LiteOn that is both cheaper and better.
The dude in the shop had told him that everything was topnotch and you couldn't buy anything better than what he was offered.
Maybe I would have questioned that statement?
The shop carry Asus only. (It is the shop I talked about in an earlier thread)
Well then we ran a couple of Sandra benches I beat him in every catagory, even the memory bandwith. (Note he wasn't running Dual channel)
He was getting quite upset at this point.
As a last ditch effort he boasted about his GFX he stated that it would thrash my "puny" Radeon.
He started 3Dmark03 the score was 1200 something.
He almost dropped from his chair in amazement when he saw my 4600 points.
Well he said it had to be due to him using an old driver.
He then updated to the most recent ForceWare driver. (I can't take that name LOL)
His score went up to 2500 points and he wasn't happy at all.
He had thought he would whip my Radeon's ass. LOL
We then discovered that his GFX was running at AGP 4x and it couldn't be set any higher.
I am still laughing at his puny attempt to beat me.
He really thought he had a chance LOL.
Sorry for this lengthy post, but I had to share this with you all.

But ROFL.
cdfreaks or something.
There's a computer shop my step-bro and I go to sometimes when I go to visit my dad (it's a small city so the only "computer" stores they have are Circuit City or a few mom & pop shops). The guy in the store is SOLID AMD. Well, that's all well and good as I'm an AMD fan too. However, his arguments against Intel are absolute lies. AMD makes a solid product, he doesn't have to lie about Intel to make AMD look good. His prices are THROUGH THE ROOF. I know this guy can't match NewEgg prices, but it's pretty much like this: If NewEgg has it for $100, he probably has the lower-quality brand with fewer features for $275.
I was using the same GF2 GTS as I am using right now.
Damn Radeon fan.
I know AGP 4x isn't slower than 8x.
But wouldn't you want your card at 8x if possible?
Even if it means nothing.
I ran my 9700 Pro at AGP 2x on my KX7-333R because it allowed me to get a 201 FSB.
Plextor and LiteOn can copy just about everything. And quickly too.
Last time I saw an Asus burner reviewed it didn't cope well with audio extraction and copy protected cd's.
They might have improved on it though.
:shakehead
Damn you. You'll rue the day you surpassed me. I will pwn you once again. Either that or just steal your rigs.
