Something wrong? Weird Behaviour

Is something wrong with my graphics card? Or is there something wrong with my monitor or something else? Recently I've just installed Command & Conquer Generals and Zero Hour, and I found out that after playing the games awhile, my monitor would either suddenly flash and then turn blank (as in, showing a dark screen), or go into sleep mode. I'm definately sure that my graphics card is much better than the required to play the games. In those 'black-outs', I'll have to hit the reset button on my PC since everything freezes, and I know everything freezes because I usually play games with my Winamp on and the game soundtracks off, and in these cases Winamp player freezes too.

Nevertheless, I uninstalled the games. Now it seems like my Warcraft III and Guild Wars are affected with the same problems too. They NEVER, never had problems before. I don't think Winamp's the one at fault since I've been playing songs while gaming years ago, and there were never problems. I don't even know where I should put this thread in. Someone help?

Note: These 'freezing' problems never happen when i'm not playing any game. Watching videos, surfing the web etc. The problems only occur during gaming.

Sounds like your video card is on the fritz, because it only does it under heavy (Stressful..) GPU load. Have another video card you can test with?

Nope. New observation. When I load WC3 FT, in the main menu, there're supposed to be ice flakes falling. Now there're tiny, short black lines running all around the screen. By running I mean flashing on and off randomly. How could it be? My card's a x600XT 128MB Gigabyte Raedon. I know it isn't exactly new, but it should be able to run games around 2-3 yrs old without a problem. Also, like i've stated, it never happened in the past. How can it get stressful now when it could handle it all in the past? Wear and tear?

I've never changed any video settings since day 1 too...

Don't tell me my attempted playing of the C&C games worn out my video card?!

Is the fan on the card still working could be getting too hot whilst playing games.

I checked...the fan's working fine. In fact, I've got 5 fans running. My casing as one on top and 1 out back, Motherboard fan, video card fan plus my internal HDD fan. No smell of anything burnt too. Any other ideas? This thread is sounding like it belongs to the hardware section already...LoL

Another observation... I can play Heros III fine. It isn't as graphic intensive as WC3 or Guild Wars though.

Just updated my display drivers as well. Doesn't seem to help. :'(
