- Is this an MSExchange server?
- If not, what database is it that you're trying to access?
- Before doing that, I'd recommend you verify the integrity of the HDDs involved.
- IOW, run diagnostics on the HDDs.
- Be sure to backup the data first (even though you're unable to access it)
EDIT://Are they in a RAID array?
Is this the same computer you were referring to in THIS thread??
Files in the Single Instance Storage (SIS) Common Store folder are no longer valid after you restore a Remote Installation Services (RIS) volume from backup in Windows Server 2003 and in Windows 2000

Kentigern, ill look into what you posted now...
so what im gathering from this, is i cant take the images from the old ris server, and copy them into the new one?
doesn't mean you aren't continuuing to experience the effects of
(undetected) power events ..... Do you have sufficient power protection in
place now?
That was my oversite on my part, Tony. You'd already answered the
question. I just missed it.
the $ to buy Vista (have to - gonna have to support it so gotta learn it...)
APC makes good power protection products but they're on the high end cost-
wise. You can find other less expensive solutions. My references to APC were
more to get info. on the specs. you need in power equipment. (They have
those nice wizards you can go through to spec. out your power protection
equipment.) You can take the info. you learn from there and apply it to
another manufacturer's power protection products.
I know you're in a catch 22. You can't afford to be down but you can't
afford to buy the remedy either. We've all been there.
The problem is, you have that flakey power there and you have a lot of
equipment whose power you need to protect. The more equipment - the
greater the load - the more it's gonna cost to put power protection in place.
I'll look around for more affordable solutions. If I find something promising, I'll
letcha know. :smiles:
