A recent demonstration of their R600 graphics card had ATI's partners very pleased with the results.
Although the real McCoy was not used for the demonstration, as the demo card was still powered with GDDR3 memory, it was enough to impress the Add-in Board partners.
The GDDR4 version along with the official launch is still scheduled for March. The partners are happy with the performance and are confident the G80 will get a run for its pixels.
The GDDR4 version will end up a bit shorter than the first R600 with GDDR3 memory. The first R600 was significantly longer than Nvidia's G80.
