ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe - Problems with BIOS 903

Hello, new to the forums.....name's Will.

My current BIOS is 603 (what the mb came with). When I flash to 903 my rig no longer boots into Windows. Gets to the Windows loading screen then reboots. If I flash back to 603 it boots fine. I'm using a SATA hard drive

It does the same exact thing when using BIOS 706. I suspect that the problem is with the SI-3132 onboard SATA controller .

On ASUS's site, the notes for 706 states "update SI-3132 ROM to 7132". I assumed this meant that the SATA controller would be getting updated to 7132 along with the 706 BIOS flash. Now I'm guessing it is not.

I downloaded the 7132 BIOS for the SI-3132 controller. In the included notes it says to use driver 1.0.15.0 or newer with BIOS 7132. I had 1.0.0.9 installed which is the latest driver listed on ASUS's site. So I updated to 1.0.19.0 & figured BIOS 903 would work now.

Flashed to 903 & same problem again, reboots at Windows loading screen. I've came to the conclusion that the SI-3132 ROM is not getting updated with the BIOS flash & the notes on ASUS's site is telling me to update the ROM to 3132 in order to use BIOS 706 & newer?

In the Control Panel under Silicon Image SATA Controller Applet, the flash bios utility is grey out so I can't use it. I downloaded the BIOS updater utility from Silicon Image but I'm a little confused about using cause I don't want to F anything up.

One of the syntax for the updater is:

–BOARDxxxx is an optional parameter to specify SI controller type (ex. -BOARD680,
-BOARD3112, -BOARD3512, -BOARD3114, -BOARD3124, -BOARD3132, -BOARD3131, -BOARD3531, -BOARD0242)
If this parameter is specified, the utility will neglect product id in the PCI config space and use the specified board type as product id. This option was added to solve a problem that the BIOS in the flash memory was loaded with BIOS which is for other controller type.
This option provides a method to indicate the actual controller type.

Do I use this -BOARD3132 since the controller is onboard?

Or do I not need to do this & am I doing something else wrong? Appreciate any help anyone can give me.
