ipod for USB drive?

My iPod works with iTunes, but I want to transfer files. But it doesn't always show up in My Computer, any ideas?

    it doesnt show up...hmmm..weird i could have sworn i used it once as an external HD

    I uninstalled iTunes... works fine now.

    Before it seems that when you closed iTunes it would disconnect the iPod. So I would only see it in My Computer when iTunes was running.

    Right after uninstalling it I found something in google which would fix the problem without uninstalling iTunes... but oh well.
