I'm trying to run Kaspersky's on line scanner on a computer I a connected to remotely.

The OS is XP PRO SP2
Browser: IE7

I keep going in circles w/ that bloody ActiveX prompt. I allow it then have to start over again then get the stinking prompt again!

I've gone into Internet Tools and made adjustments I thought would work but I'm still having the same problem

I'd be very grateful for ya'lls advice as I have 3 computer I need to get scanned tonite.

Thank you!

It probably isn't compatible with IE7 at this time. I'm finding this a lot across the web lately. You may either have to downgrade to IE6, or wait until the system is compatible with 7, or find a different online scanner :-/

does anyone know if Kaspersky's on line scanner is better than Avast antivirus?

I thought it might be a compatibility issue too, PS, but I finally got it to work. Had to effectively shut down security on IE7 to do it, though. I don't like that.

Ran two of the Kaspersky scans on two different systems so far tonite.
The third one is still running.
Kaspersky flags NAV's Quarantine and Spysweeper's temp files.
Most other AV's do that, too so I'm not complaining.
It's nice to have the added scanner when in doubt.
I'm running NAV scans 2b sure on the two that finished w/ Kaspersky.

Re: Avast! Haven't tried its online scanner, Trev, so I can't help you there. Maybe one of the Malware experts here in this forum will have an answer for you.

Kaspersky is one of the better anti-virus products out. It is highly rated in the malware community.

    For the Kav online scan:

You will be promted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.
Note for Internet Explorer 7 users: If at any time you have trouble with the accept button of the licence, click on the Zoom tool located at the right bottom of the IE window and set the zoom to 75 %. Once the license accepted, reset to 100%.

The ACCEPT button would not appear after accepting the ActiveX component until I killed security on IE (please, see pics in post # 1)
I had the same problem on 4 different systems running IE7 tonite

OK, but I'm pretty sure the "accept" button would have been viewable if the the Zoom was lowered to 75%. :)

I stand corrected!! I restored my IE security settings then I removed the Kaspersky active x component (dll file) from my system. I then went back to Kaspersky's site and tried, 1st, the way I'd been doin' it all night and the results were predictable. (No ACCEPT button.)

Then I tried again this time w/ the view set to 75%. Lo' an' behold, there it was! Little stinker (the accept button) was hiding just like you said, Trogan.

So, p-l-e-a-s-e accept my heart felt apologies! :respect:

Thankyou Trogan. As usual, you're right on target w/ the world of bugs and the tools used to irradicate them.
