Graphics Card Installation Problem

edited February 2007 in Hardware
I bought a brand new ATI Radeon X1300 512MB and I installed all the components, after I finished installing I ran windows and while Windows is starting up my PC just freezes, I changed the BIOS configuration to Initial Diplay on AGP, and I still have the problem, a few minutes of my PC running it just freezes... Can anyone diagnose or help me about this problem?

What was the old video card?

Did you clean out the drivers before installing the new one?

    Have you tried Safe Mode?

Give us more specs on the rest of your system, including MB, PSU, etc. :)

The old video card was one built-in, I uninstalled all the old drivers.
I haven't tried Safe Mode yet.

My system has 512 Mb of RAM, My processor is an AMD Athlon(tm) 3000+, 2.16 GHz. Currently using service pack 2.Win XP.

I believe my power supply has Max Power 300w.

    Is this enough info?

ok if your old graphics were built in then you may have to look in the bios to disable the on board graphics

then uninstall the old drivers reboot and install the new ati drivers
