I noticed that my laptop seemed to be running a little slower than usual. I have an inspiron E1705 with a core duo t2500 which should be running at 2ghz. I went to the system menu and it shows that my cpu is only running at 999mhz instead of the 2ghz that it should be running at. Could this be some sort of laptop power saving feature, even though it is plugged in to the charger and not running off the battery? I attatched a picture of whats going on.

I think i figured it out. there was some setting in the bios that adjusts the cpu speed based on how much work your doing and it was set to that. So pretty much it runs at 999mhz unless your doing a bunch of crap

The system will also drop to this speed if your not plugged into the wall. UNless you have full acceleration switched on :)
