hey, basically i have a ATI Radeon Xpress 200 series card, and i'm thinking about setting up another monitor with this one, for when i'm photoshopping, and web designing etc.

but i only have one VGA port, and do not have a DVI port.

So am i right in thinking i'd need a VGa to 2 VGA adapter?

and would this one do the job?

i hope so. any help greatly appreciated =]

A VGA splitter will allow dual screens. But on a Xpress 200 series chip I am not sure if it will allow you to do split screen. It might only allow a Clone view. I need to look into this a bit more...

i've also thought about that, it does say it's dual monitor compatible, but i think it maybe a clone view

    =[

well either way, it'd be useful, either because it could work, or for a resell!

We have these spliters at work, with our crappy 5 yr old Dells (which have a Radeon 7000 (I think) - if that means anything). I'm able to get dual screens, but it's treating the dual screens as 1 large screen. Meaning certain things (power point presentations) will show up in the middle of the two monitors. However for Photoshop/Dreamweaver, etc, it works great.
