Remote gaming

edited February 2007 in Science & Tech
Not sure if this belongs here on in gaming but here goes.

Is there a derivitave of Remote Assistance that would allow a game to be played remotely on a networked PC and controlled and displayed on a wireless notebook?

I am trying to avoid gotomypc if at all possible. Does XP/Vista have anything like this?

Thanks!

Not really... it would be slow, and require allot of bandwidth. I can see it in the near future, simply being maybe a gigabit connection through a presized window, sending screen shots at about 30fps through a network connection and utilizing the networked keyboard. I thought about this with a wireless monitor, but it's just not feasible right now. At least for fast paced games, I am sure you could play something like Diablo II through remote access or something, I may have to give it a shot for ****s and giggles.

One more thing, not on gaming. I have everything setup up, all drives are reognised, is there anyway to access the desktop on each of the folding rigs without a remote request everytime? Any software that does that?

I use Remote Desktop all the time. It works great...like RWB I can't imagine it would work for gaming....but no problem if you just want to get to desktops of XP Pro machines. Otherwise there's always VNC. I've used that quite a bit too.

Odd, I can't seem to find it under the communications section. I tried installing it form my XP disc and it says it is already installed... Any idea where I might find the .exe?

I think I figured it out, just have to enable it in system properties...
