X-Com Enemy Unknown - help with scroll speed

Hey all

I have got myself this great game from 1995 off the net which I spent many hours playing back in the day and trying to get it to work in windows XP is challenging, the fix for the graphics (which are garbled normally) that is on the web did not work, so I did a bit more reading and went to the directx console and disabled directdraw - magic it works.

Started playing the game and we run into the main problem, scrolling on the "battlefield" its so so fast you cannot do anything without a lot of character switching and use of the map, which is not great.

I tried CPUkiller to see if that would do anything - no joy.

And I don't think dosbox will work with this version, its the windows one. Any ideas?

Thanks

    Hey Krazeyivan,

I remember that X-Com UFO defense had an option where you could set the scroll speed. Does Enemy Unknown have that too?

Other wise try out Mo'slo here http://www.dosgames.com/essential.php

Yeah I tried that option - its because the PC is much to powerful for it, it just moves so fast!

I have tried running in compatibility mode too - no joy, guess I am going to have to install Win 98 on one of my old test boxes!

    Or investigate Virtual PC software!
