Get Visual Guids Back in 3D Studio Max 7

For some reason my visual guides have disappeared.
These are the guides that show x,y,z that you can move with the mouse to expand, minimize, etc an object.

It is not the gizmo, any help that anyone can give will be greatly appreciated.
My friends Google and Yahoo only show me how to do special/visual affects

    To me it looks like you've got the object selected but you're not set to "move" the object.

    I can move, rotate, and stretch it but the visual aides will not show up for some reason.

    Hit x. It's a stupid hotkey that turns the gizmo on and off. I have no idea why they developed it. Alternatively, if you to customize you can turn the gizmo on and off under the preferences>gizmo tab.
