Help Crash of storage drive-lost data

edited March 2007 in Hardware
I have a simple tech simple storage 160G network attached storage device that has recenlty crashed. I have a lot of images that I need to get off the device but now I can't access it. I can find it with the provided discovery cd, which when found says that it is operating fine and has 160G of storage space (but I know that some of that space it is my corrupted files). But now I can't map the drive or access it beyond the discovery tool. The tech people won't even respond to me from that company.

I tried to download some programs that would let me recover the data but since it is a network device, I have only found one program that can even access the data but it is recovering very corrupted and unusable files. It is also not showing all the data that was on the device.

I don't know what options I have left. Am I stuck just taking it somewhere to have the data pulled from the device?

I would appreciate any advice anyone can give.

    Hi,

    What is the device model?

Are you only able to access it via the network or is there USB/Firewire conectivity also available?

What file system is it running?

    What OS are you using?
