Wii voting channel

I just got a note from Nintendo asking me to sign up for the new 'Everybody Votes' channel. It's a free channel that offers polls, some of them world-wide, on very simple topics. Each person (up to six per Wii) gets to place their vote, and try to predict how the vote will go for the rest of the Wii community, scoring points for correct predictions.

If you haven't been to your Wii yet today, go ahead... I'll wait...

/me waits for you to update your Wii and download the new channel.

Sounds neat, and I've voted on all the current polls, but I'm not sure I'm gonna remember to continue to vote.

I wish the questions were better than they've been.

I think the questions are so hokey because they have to be questions that would apply to absolutely everyone (for instance anything about driving, smoking, alchohol, or adult relationships would simply not apply to the younger audience), and they cannot contain any copyrighted or trademarked things (like 'Coke or Pepsi?').

I suppose they also have to be careful about things that only apply to certain region, especially in the 'worldwide' questions... Frankly I was suprised that the first worldwide question was 'Cats or dogs?' which I don't think would be an appropriate question in every country.

You can suggest questions, as well...

It's pretty cool, but the lack of choices in some of the polls and generic questions are kind of a let-down. I don't check the channel more than 2-3 times in a week and don't miss a thing.

    Oh well. It's free, right?
