AVG's killing me

The scanner starts and it just utterly kills my work computer, as if it has absolute priority. Where do I change it to low priority? I've seen it before when I wasn't looking and now that I am, I am unable to find it.

Would it be in windows task manager where you right click on the process and choose priority high low etc etc
