adding a hard drive

edited February 2007 in Hardware
hi. i have a 60 gb hard drive on my computer and it is about full. So now i'm looking into adding a larger hard drive internally. Is it possible to hook up two hard drive internally on a standard dell desktop computer? Or do i need to get some sort of adapter? Another thing, could i get a larger hard drive, copy all my files on the larger hard drive and then remove the smaller hard drive with ease?

It should be able to be done fairly easily ...adding the drive I mean. From there you should be able to store files that aren't dependent on the boot drive and such. I usually install all of my software to the add-on drive and leave the OS on the original drive. That would probably be the easiest thing to do. With an extra drive you should be able to make plenty of room on that 60gb drive and leave it as the OS drive.
