Downloader.Zlob.FC - Am infected

It showed up a few days ago. AVG continues to detect it, but the scans show nothing. After reading through this forum i tried the suggestions found here. I ran a scan with AVG (found nothing), SpywareCrawler (nothing), then Ad-Aware (just cookies), VundoFix (found 2 on first scan, removed them - found nothing on 2nd scan) and VirtumundoBeGone. (I have no idea what it found or what it did...)

Here are the logs from Virtumundobegone and the most recent HijackThis log.

I redid the scans (Anti-virus/ect., Vundofix, Virtumundobegone, then hijackthis) just to make sure, and here are the reports from Virtumundobegone and then the HijackThis log.

Nothing came up on any scans. Is it gone? I really hope so, lol.

    Thanks.

Your Java is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system. Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update to the latest version...

    Updating Java:
    • Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 .
    • Click the "Download" button to the right.
    • Check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement."
    • The page will refresh.
    • Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation with or without Multi-language and save to your desktop.
    • Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
    • Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove the following...
      • J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6
    • Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
    • Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6-windows-i586.exe to install the newest version.

Apart from that, do you have any other questions or problems?
  • edited February 2007
Nope, thats it, thank you so much. I've never had so much trouble removing a virus before, lol.
    Thanks!

Hi, I returned this thread as AmTheMizzes asks :)

So AVG popped up again, finding the zlob.fc in my system volume information folder in a restore file.

I did tests with all the tools available here, as well as AVG but they came up with nothing.

Is it really an infected file, or just something the system saved as a restore point? Are those files safe to delete?

Here is my newest HJT log after running all the tools.

Ok, thank you again Nuppi. Problem solved.
Now I also have a little more understanding on how my system works. I didn't realize it would/could load any possible infected files from a restore point. Thanks for all your help!
