Hi all, Im slowly gathering the parts for my first build which I intend to also have my first try at overclocking with. Ive read various forums and seen people talking about stepping. from what I gather this is the production run that the processor comes from and some are better than others.
I recenlty recieved my first purchace of parts (Im buying them paycheck to paycheck, Im useless at saving:rolleyes2 ) one of which is an E6600 CPU. it has a whole bunch of numbers/info printed on the chip and box (listed below). which of these do I use to find out my processors stepping?
some letters have a circle around them Ill close these in brackets eg: (H)
ON THE CHIP:
INTEL (M) (O) ' 05
INTEL (R) CORE 2 DUO
6600 SL9S8 MALAY
2.40GHZ/4M/1066/06
L629F122(04)
ON THE BOX:
PROD. CODE: BX80557E6600SL9S8
MM#: 884980
FPO/BATCH#: L629F122
VERSION#: D63625-002
Thanks in advance - SN -
(((EDIT: Mod's if this is in the wrong forum, feel free to move it...)))
