LG CD-ROM Firmware problem with Linux
It has been reported that there appears to be some un-expected problems occurring when running Mandrake's Linux OS version 9.2 on a system contained some Goldstar (LG) CD-ROMs.

It clearly warns that you should not install Mandrake Linux 9.2 on any PC containing an LG CD-ROM drive or it will damage your CD-ROM drive.
