Now, I'm not exactly a fan of Sony's latest incarnation - I enjoy my roommates Wii immensely (err...the console.) However, even I have to admit that this does look pretty cool and interesting. Would it make me want to go out and buy one? ...probably not, but oddly enough it does make the PS3 more appealing to me.

Being a person with a PS3 I am not entirely sure I will use this feature...

That is far too awkward and entirely too Asian for me to participate in.

Hmmpf, seems a little gimmicky to me but then again I don't deal with second life or any of that jazz. XBox Live still seems better. Fairly clean and steamlined and it makes console multiplayer gaming easy. I really don't see any advantages to this service.

From the very little I've read about it, accomplishments in various games are put into a "room" you own - it would be kinda neat to put up a pennant in your online apartment from your latest superbowl victory in Madden, wouldn't it?

I don't think I could make it through a whole season in that game...

If you like Second Life you'll love Home. I can see the same things happening in Home too though, where people set up shops to talk about the Army, or medicine, or whatever they do.

I don't find the idea very appealing, and I think it will be clunky as hell if Sony's previous online work is to be any indication of their skill in networking lobbies. I do, however, think this is a much needed difference Sony needs to stand out from the crowd. Right now MS has Live, the Wii has its controller, and Sony has a 360 with a bluray player and no Live. How good Home is has yet to be seen, but it will let it stand out amongst the crowd a little better.
