Can't get computer to boot

My computer suddenly froze while I was using it, first saying that one program wasn't responding to the entire computer being unresponsive. After I tried to restart it, it would bring me to te "We apologize for the inconvenience" page that gives you the option of rebooting in safe mode or normally. When I select any options on this page it pauses for a few seconds before blacking out and restarting to the loading page (the first page you see when you turn your computer on).

Does anyone know what the problem can be? I will post up any additional information if needed. Thanks.
