HUH!?!!?!?
Well heres what happened:
I changed mobos from a dragon ultra p4x400 platinum to a NF7-S rev. 2 because when i put in some RAM into the second RAM slot of the dragon, i got beep errors about the ram not being good enough...now i am well aware that this mobo was having issues in performance so I more or less accepted its fate
-I had an ocz 550w PSU in and when I had my ati 9800 pro all in wonder plugged into the 3.5 connector, the comp would start up, and then shut down..so the fans and lights went for a few seconds and stopped
-i replaced it with a 550w antec true power (like 5 years old) which did NOT work properly with the dragon mobo, but works flawlessly now
-WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!?!!?! are the mobos bad? The psus? what? i dont know anymore!!!

If so then don't question it.
I have a PSU that does not play nice with some mobos, I am convinced that it is because it does not turn on fast enough.
