Keyboard trouble

My keyboard randomly won't work upon booting. It never stops mid use or anything, it only doesn't work after booting up but there's no pattern or reason apparent to me. The keyboard lights still come on, but nothing on the keyboard will work. I'll reboot, sometimes it starts back up and the keyboard works, other times I have to reboot again. I have the bios set to stop on a keyboard error. Is my keyboard going bad? Is the PS/2 port bad? What's wrong?
