Which PDA?

I'm going to be getting a PDA to handle the usual calendar/address book/etc, but I also plan on putting roms, listening to mp3s and other fun stuff. I want it to have wireless and bluetooth built in. I've been looking at the Toshiba e750/755, if you know the major differences let me know. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions/opinions, I believe NS has the 755. Also, it looks like the 755 has Mobile2003, is it possible to install 2002 because as of right now our school's wireless network can't connect to 2003?

I´m currently looking to get the new Microsoft PDA that is supposed to be released any day now. Uses Wi/Fi through a little card.

That "not able to connect to 2003" argument really does make no sence at all, a wireless network is a wireless network. Only thing I can think of is some strange securtiy protocol, but 2003 is likely to be more compatable than 2002.

Can you get some more details on that please.

The 750 and 755 are exactly the same machine, the 755 just comes with some extra software.

To connect to the school's wireless network PDA's must use a VPN. I just received an email back, however, saying that Certicom, which is the company that writes the clients, will probably be releasing one for 2003 in December or January, so that's no longer an issue. NS, what kind of battery life does the e755 have and how do you like yours?

With normal battery, about 6 or 7 hours, with the super battery, about 23-30 hours.

There is only one annoying thing about the Toshibas and that is the button lag. For some stupid reason, when playing games or using emulators, the buttons lag. It's not huge, infact it is a very, very short amount of time, but it's enough to be annoying.

I knew about this before buying it, as basically it is an advanced organizer, not a games machine, though things like Age of Empires, Doom, Quake and the space sims all work perfectly. I mainly bought it for the good speed, great screen, great Video playback (great watching things like Jackass the Movie on it, or anything else), super batteries and its expansion capabilities.

Afaik WM2003 supports VPNs, so I am not sure what is up there...

Where do you find AOE for pocket pc? Is it possible to take a widescreen dvd, compress it, and play it vertically on a pocket pc?

AOE is loads of places, and no, you rotate your PDA sideways to pay the DVD so it basically becomes a widescreen display.

Just compress it to 320x240 and use anything below 1000kbps video bitrate and it will be fine on any PXA-255 machine.

    NightShade737 had this to say
Is that the PXA-250 Axim or the PXA-255 Axim?

I have had the 400mhz axim w/64mb ram since Jan. It has been a good pocket pc and does everything I want it to do.(games, mp3s, movies, organize my life, etc) heh, its even doubles as a graphing calculator! :D

Here is a guide I used to convert a dvd to a format my pocket pc can use(and still look good). I usually can take a full length dvd and take it down to 150megs for my pocket pc.

And here is a good website for pocket pc gaming:

Yes, but is it a PXA-250 or PXA-255 processor?

    Download CPU-ID to check.
