About my nVidia 6200 display card driver

edited March 2007 in Science & Tech
Hello guys~
I come from Hong Kong, my english standard is not well, so sorry if you don't understand my poor English

That's the problem....I used ATI Radeon 9600 as previously and it finally got damaged...and I bought a new one nVidia 6200 (Eagle)....as I am unclear about the PC knowledge, I am ignorance to install the new display card driver...without uninstalled the ATI one.

Here comes the problem, the operation of my PC becomes weird...
After the installation of the new ATI display driver, I can't view all the media(videos file) no matter its format..(except videos from youtube)...the whole system seem turned halt suddenly (but not hanged)...
Then if i press the 3-keys (ctrl+alt+delete) to call out the system manager(I don't know what it exactly is called but I think you guys would know what I mean)...and then stop the media running, the system becomes OK again. Also, if I go to hardware manager to stop the function of display card , after its reboot, I can watch the video again...

Likewise, I found the same problem with MSN messenger when i start it....the programme dont come out but the system halt....but if I press ctrl+alt+delete the MSN can be started...

So I wonder if you guys know what happens with my machine?
Is it some kind of clash of display driver?
And what can i do to this problem?

So you got a 6200 and installed new ATI drivers? the 6200 is made by Nvidia not ATI. head over to Nvidia and download the newest drivers there.

    Surely i know they're different....

i have uninstalled the ATI one after install the nVidia 6200 driver,
but is it in a wrong sequence? My friend told me that the problem may be caused by driver clash...but after i download the new driver and install , it's just the same ....with no improvement..

Now, if i have to watch video file in my PC..i have to stop the function of my display card driver and then reboot...but it's too troublesome to do such thing....so i wonder if there's another solution...thanks for all...

ps..my OS is WinXP Professional Version 2002 service pack 1 , AMD Athlon XP 1900+ 1.46GHz
(so which driver pack should I use?,,or just use the set up disc of 6200?)
