    no and yes....

its kinda hard to explain, but you get hero's in nightfall, which u can use in factions and prophecies. if you start with factions or prophecies u dont get heros until u get to nightfall.

for learning how to play the game at a slow pace, and to get free skills u want prophecies. to level up fast get factions, but it gets hard alot faster. plus it also depends on which type of player you want to play. Warrior, Monk, Ranger, Mesmer, Elementalist, Necromancer, Assassin, Ritualist, Dervish, Paragon. Some are only creatable in certain campaigns.

if you care about following the story start with prophecies.

not to discourage you at all...but there is alot of depth to the game, and #4 is about 6-7 months away.

if you feel you might be playing it alone alot, start with nightfall. the hero's help alot. just dont let the fact there is about 600skills to learn make ya not want to play ;)

There is Steam powered games, its only a one time fee and most are multiplayer for example, Counter-strike: Source and Half-Life 2

[Selling Steam accounts is against their ToS.

Indeed... Team Nexlia were beta testers and got a two year subscription for cheap, then never really played it much after that... Just too slow in implementing things that they said they would have right away...

Yeah. That sucked. We had decided to pay for the two-year subscription, and themn start playing again as soon as all the new puzzles, jobs, and houses were ready...

All that stuff was released just a few weeks before the two years was up...
    :p

KalOnline - Free mmorpg..Pretty fun, but can get repeatitive unless you have friends

Runescape, haha. - semi great gameplay, horrid graphics. Once this game isn't in java and is client based, it would probably be decent to play.

    Knight Online - free mmo

Supposedly the new LoTR Online is a really well made, well polished game. Or you could do what I am doing and keep playing Burning Crusade until Warhammer gets released next year.

    Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a game that I can play with my girlfriend. I love WOW, but she quit once she got to level 38, saying it got too hard for her. I have a few 65-70's and play alone, and she plays City of Heroes/City of Villains, but that game just doesn't have enough depth for me. So I guess I'm looking for a simpler version of WOW--she loves to kill things with a sword/axe/dagger, and I'm a ranged/pet guy. Anyone have any suggestions for something to try out?

Guild Wars would be perfect. I've played it a bit with my wife, and it works out great. The best parts are that you get your own instances of the world for questing purposes, and it's got no monthly charge.

Actually, I have thought of Guild Wars, but I'm having trouble finding a trial key--wanted to try before I buy. I'll look into Dark Age of Camelot--hadn't thought of that one. She's definitely a fan of cooperative platform gaming as well--we've plowed through Baldur's Gate/Champions of Norrath/Dark Kingdom on PS2/PS3, just wish there were more to choose from.
