File Transfer ?

I am going to transfer my files from my old computer (running XP w/sp2) to my new rig :bigggrin: (running Vista).Since my old computer has ide drives and the new one sata I guess I have to use an Easy Transfer Cable with Windows Easy Transfer Companion.
Questions: Is one Transfer cable better than another and is there any advice out ther on doing this (pitfalls ect).
