? on Activation

In anticipation of upgrading several computers I have built 2 systems without cases, each with a new copy of XP installed on an 80GB HD. I've loaded the OS plus all the required software and also personal diagnostic software so the systems will be ready to go when the time is convenient. I have "not" activated XP. However (there's always a "However") the actual XP activation time frame will most likely be beyond the 30 day "Activation" period established when I did the install, and I'm not sure what happens after that date, ie: can I still "Activate" after the 30 day time period? ... or will I have to do a complete new install at that time? I'm not wanting to lock the OS to this particular hardware at the moment ... in case I have a need to use some of the individual components before that time ... so if I can still activate after the 30 days that will work. Anyone have experience with this??

I appreciate.

The simple answer is that you must activate at the 30 day mark, or the computer will stop logging in until you do so.

Well, windows will sort of "lock", and won't unlock 'till you activate. Nothing really bad will happen.

Ok thanks guys. It would appear that at that at any point beyond the 30 days I would not be able to use Windows, but I would still be able to activate at that time. I appreciate the responses. :D
